Idaho casinos provide residents and visitors alike the opportunity to gamble when they're not enjoying all the other great things to do. As is true in most states, the casinos in the Gem State are owned and operated by Native America tribes. These tribes are permitted to offer Class II video game machines, as well as electronic pull-tab machines. You won't find traditional table games and some of the other favorite games that many casinos across the country have to offer when visiting the Idaho Indian casinos, though the machines can fill at least a few hours of your time, and you might stick around to enjoy everything else that is available.

If you want to do some gambling in Idaho, you can find a collection of casinos in the northern reaches. There are also the casinos in Southern Idaho, which are tucked down near the southeast corner. In the northern part of the state, the Coeur D'Alene Casino Resort Hotel is among the top gaming and entertainment destinations. This is partly due to its proximity to everything that the beautiful Coeur D'Alene and Sandpoint area has to offer, not to mention its wonderful hotel, spa, and golf course. Versions of table games such as blackjack and poker can be enjoyed at the casino in Coeur D'Alene. These games are played at tables that feature multi-player electronic systems. It's close enough to the real thing for most, and if you prefer, you can stick to the video game machines and the pull-tab machines. As is true of the other Idaho casinos, this northern casino offers bingo and off-track betting to go with its faux table games and its machines.

Near

When traveling through the northern part of Idaho, the other casinos that might pique your interest are the Kootenai River Inn and Casino and the It'se-Ye-Ye Bingo & Casino at the Clearwater River Resort. At the Kootenai River Inn and Casino, 500 gaming machines await visitors, and you can enjoy cocktail service while you play. There are restaurants and lodging options to choose from, including the Best Western Kootenai River Inn Casino. Flat-screen TVs and satellite programming are among the in-room amenities, and if you want to upgrade, you can book a suite with a whirlpool tub or opt for the Three Moon Suite, which features a fireplace and other welcoming perks. An upscale day spa rounds out the facilities at this fun casino resort.

Idaho Map

The It'se-Ye-Ye Bingo & Casino offers 110 video gaming machines and an all around casual atmosphere that proves inviting. As is true of the other Idaho casinos, the It'se-Ye-Ye Bingo & Casino is open 24 hours a day. At the affiliated Clearwater River Hotel, the rooms aren't luxurious, though they provide guests with everything that they will need to enjoy a pleasant stay. There's also the RV park, which features 33 sites with full hookups.

The casinos in Southern Idaho aren't as complete as the northern ones on the whole, though they are relatively popular. This has a lot to do with the fact that they are easier to get to for many travelers. These casinos provide proximity to Yellowstone National Park, and the borders of both Wyoming and Utah aren't very far off. As such, those who visit the casinos in Southern Idaho come from all around. As for the casinos of choice in the southern part of the state, they include the Sage Hill Casino in Blackfoot, the Fort Hall Casino, and the Bannock Peak Casino. The Sage Hill Casino isn't very large when compared to some of the other Idaho casinos. It offers around 100 machines and a restaurant. Also on the smaller side, the Bannock Peak Casino around 60 different machines for visitors to play.

The Fort Hall Casino near Idaho Falls and Pocatello, not far from the border with Wyoming, is the king of the casinos in Southern Idaho. No fewer than 900 machines await at the Fort Hall Casino, which helps to make it one of the top places to gambling in Idaho, and should you be interested, the bingo hall can accommodate up to 200 people. Live music is often offered at the Fort Hall Casino, and daily lunch and dinner buffets are on offer at the restaurant. The Fort Hall Casino is affiliated with the Sage Hill Casino and the Bannock Peak Casino. Anyone who is gambling in Idaho might visit all three when planning a trip to the southeast region, though if you only have time for one, the Fort Hall Casino should be the first choice.

While they don't exactly compare to the casinos in Las Vegas, the Idaho casinos provide enough enjoyment to warrant a visit. Add in the great options for things to do in Idaho, such as hiking and skiing, and you just might find that the Gem State makes for an ideal vacation destination. You might also keep the other options in mind when it comes to gambling in Idaho while you plan your visit. It is possible to bet on horse races at a number of venues across the state, such as the Eastern Idaho State Fairgrounds.
